   Maulid Nabi adalah peringatan hari lahir Nabi Muhammad SAW, yang di Indonesia perayaannya jatuh pada setiap tanggal 12 Rabiul Awal dalam penanggalan Hijriyah. Kata maulid atau milad dalam bahasa Arab berarti hari lahir. Perayaan Maulid Nabi merupakan tradisi yang berkembang di masyarakat Islam jauh setelah Nabi Muhammad SAW wafat. Secara subtansi, peringatan ini adalah ekspresi kegembiraan dan penghormatan kepada Nabi Muhammad.

   Peringatan hari lahir Nabi Muhammad SAW diyakini telah dikenal sejak tahun kedua hijriah. Namun, ada juga yang meyakininya telah ada sejak zaman Nabi Muhammad SAW. Perayaan maulid Nabi SAW sudah dilakukan masyarakat muslim sejak tahun kedua Hijriah. Catatan tersebut juga merujuk pada kitab “Wafa’ul Wafa bi Akhbar Darul Mustafa” karangan Nuruddin.

   Seorang Jenderal dan pejuang muslim asal Kurdi bernama Salahuddin Ayyubi ingin merayakan maulid Nabi menjadi tradisi bagi umat islam di seluruh dunia. Namun, gagasan Salahuddin ditentang oleh banyak ulama, Akan tetapi Salahuddin menegaskan bahwa perayaan maulid Nabi hanyalah kegiatan menyemarakkan syiar agama. Maka pada bulan Dzulhijjah yang bertepatan dengan bulan ibadah haji, Salahuddin yang pada saat itu sebagai penguasa Haramain mengeluarkan instruksi kepada seluruh jamaah haji agar segera mensosialisasikan kepada masyarakat islam yang berada di kampung halamannya untuk merayakan hari lahir Nabi Muhammad SAW.

   Akhirnya pada tahun 580 Hijriah atau 1184 Masehi bertepatan tanggal 12 Rabiul-Awwal dirayakannya Maulid Nabi dengan berbagai kegiatan yang membangkitkan semangat umat Islam. Pada saat itu Salahuddin mengadakan sayembara penulisan sejarah Nabi dan dimenangkan oleh Syeikh Al-Barzanji. Sejak saat itu maulid nabi dirayakan di seluruh dunia.

   Muhammad SAW Maulid Nabi is the commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, which in Indonesia is celebrated on every 12th of Rabiul Awal in the Hijri calendar. The word maulid or milad in Arabic means day of birth. The celebration of the Prophet’s birthday is a tradition that developed in the Islamic community long after the Prophet Muhammad died. In substance, this commemoration is an expression of joy and respect for the Prophet Muhammad.

   The commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad is believed to have been known since the second year of hijri. However, there are also those who believe it has existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad. The celebration of the Prophet’s maulid has been carried out by the Muslim community since the second year of Ilijri. The record also refers to the book “Wafa’ul Wafa bi Akhbar Darul Mustafa” by Nuruddin. 

  A Kurdish general and Muslim fighter named Salahuddin Ayyubi wanted to celebrate the Prophet’s birthday as a tradition for Muslims around the world. However, Salahuddin’s idea was opposed by many scholars, but Salahuddin emphasized that the celebration of the Prophet’s maulid was only an activity to enliven the religious syiar. So in the month of Dhul Hijjah which coincides with the month of Hajj. Salahuddin, who at that time was the ruler of Haramain, issued instructions to all pilgrims to immediately socialize to the Islamic community in their hometowns to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.

   Selamat Memperingati Hari Olahraga Nasional!

   Penetapan Hari Olahraga Nasional tidak luput dari momen Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) pertama di Surakarta pada 9-12 September 1948 silam. Tujuan peringatan Haornas sendiri untuk meningkatkan rasa sportivitas di tanah air. Dikutip dari laman Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Provinsi Sumatera Utara, kala itu PON digelar pada tahun 1948 karena atlet-atlet Indonesia tidak dapat turut serta dalam kompetisi olahraga dunia Olimpiade XIV/1948 di kota London, Inggris.

   Alasannya karena kemerdekaan dan kedaulatan Indonesia belum diakui oleh dunia serta paspor Indonesia juga tidak diakui oleh pemerintah Inggris. Namun, mereka dapat berpartisipasi dengan menggunakan paspor Belanda. Meski begitu, putra-putri Indonesia hanya ingin hadir sebagai perwakilan Indonesia. Penolakan pada kompetisi dunia membuat Persatuan Olahraga Republik Indonesia (PORI) memutuskan untuk menyelenggarakan kompetisi dalam negeri dengan nama Pekan Olahraga Nasional atau PON.

   PON menjadi bukti untuk menunjukkan kepada dunia bahwa Indonesia sanggup mengadakan acara olahraga berskala nasional. Pada saat itu, PON disambut dengan antusias oleh para atlet Indonesia. Hal itu terbukti dengan banyaknya atlet Indonesia yang hadir. Sebanyak 600 atlet mengikuti kompetisi PON dan bertanding pada 9 cabang olahraga untuk memperebutkan 108 medali. Adanya PON pada tanggal 9-12 September 1948 menjadi peringatan Hari Olahraga Nasional oleh masyarakat Indonesia. PON I disambut antusias oleh para atlet Indonesia.

   Hal tersebut terlihat dari banyaknya para atlet Indonesia sebanyak 600 atlet yang mengikuti kompetisi tersebut, dengan bertanding pada 9 cabang olahraga untuk merebutkan 108 mendali. Dengan diadakan PON I pada tanggal 9 – 12 September 1948 sebagai tanggal peringatan Hari Olahraga Nasional oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Selama penyelenggaraannya hingga saat ini, PON telah diselenggarakan sebanyak 19 kali. Namun, pada tahun 1965 kompetisi olahraga tersebut gagal diselenggarakan karena terjadinya peristiwa G30S PKI. Jadi bisa dikatakan jika PON baru diselenggarakan sebanyak 18 kali.

   PON I digelar karena pada tahun 1948 atlet-atlet Indonesia tidak bisa mengikuti kompetisi olahraga dunia Olimpiade XIV/1948 di kota London, Inggris. Hal ini disebabkan pada saat itu kemerdekaan dan kedaulatan Indonesia belum diperoleh pengakuannya oleh dunia serta paspor Indonesia pun juga tidak diakui oleh Pemerintah Inggris, namun mereka bisa berpartisipasi dengan ajang kompetisi dunia tersebut jika menggunakan paspor Belanda. Meskipun demikian, putra-putri Tanah Air hanya mau hadir di ajang tersebut sebagai perwakilan Indonesia.

   Penolakan tersebut membuat Persatuan Olahraga Republik Indonesia (PORI) memutuskan untuk menyelenggarakan kompetisi dalam negeri yang diberi nama Pekan Olahraga Nasional. Hal ini sebagai bukti untuk menunjukkan kepada mata dunia bahwa pada saat itu bangsa Indonesia sanggup mengadakan acara olahraga dengan skala nasional.

   PON is proof to show the world that Indonesia is capable of holding national-scale sporting events. At that time, PON was enthusiastically welcomed by Indonesian athletes. This was proven by the many Indonesian athletes who attended. As many as 600 athletes took part in PON competitions and competed in 9 sports to fight for 108 medals.
